North & North East

Chiang Mai This City is full of beauty, passion and traditional Thai culture – Experience the landscape, Hill tribes, elephant sanctuaries, northern Thai cuisine and meet the local people, who are always very welcoming. Chiang Mai is the entrance to the Golden Triangle and for those looking for a more traditional Thai experience, Chiang Mai, should be on your itinerary, to explore and to understand more about ethnic Thai culture and its people.
Chiang Rai The tip of the Golden Triangle and the home to the distinctive hill tribes' people, bordering Myanmar (Burma) with a diverse range of local charm, traditional Thai buildings and markets selling an array of local handicrafts. This is Thailand for those looking for classic and original landscape, people and culture. It's a long way from convention and any beaches but you will be thrilled with all that you see, do and learn.
Sukhotai Is a World heritage listed site and once the capital of Thailand. This historical City will leave you breathless after seeing the once original Thai palaces and Temples that don the landscape. Walk amongst the hundreds of Chedis and see the huge seated Buddha, clothed in orange robes. For those looking at seeing and understanding more of the Thai history, Sukhothai, should be on your list to visit, stay and explore.
Loei The northeast holds a rather distinct place for most Thais. As its something akin to the nation's heartland. Much of the nation’s staple diet (Rice) is grown here and the region has a specific cuisine, which is quite distinct from the usual Thai food you will find in most other areas. The area has the highest mountain in the North East and there are some great hiking and camping trips available, for those who love the great outdoors. Loei, really is a part of Thailand that has retained its culture and traditions and the area is still largely free from inquisitive tourists.
Nakhom Phanom The Mekong River separates Nakhon Phanom’s from the neighboring country of Laos and has a past, dating back thousands of years. The province is a collection of diverse cultures and traditions, which derive from the various ethnic groups that now inhabit this land. Nakhon Phanom, literally translates as “city of hills” and is renowned for its beautiful scenery and mystic charm. The city contains one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites, revered in both Thailand and neighboring Laos.
